How do I know if a wall is load-bearing?
Never guess. Our team performs a detailed survey of the floor joists and roof structure above. Load-bearing walls support the weight of the floors or roof, and their removal requires structural steel to redistribute that weight safely.
Do I need a structural engineer?
Yes. For any load-bearing wall removal, a structural engineer must calculate the size of the steel beam required. We work closely with engineers to ensure all work meets Building Regulations and safety standards.
Will removing a wall cause cracks in other parts of the house?
By using professional "Acrow" props and Strongboys to support the load during the transition, we minimize any movement. Slight hairline cracks can sometimes occur as the building settles onto the new steel, which is normal and easily repaired.
